Files by Google gets Chromecast Support
With an update to the beta version of the Files by Google app, the company introduced support for Chromecast within the app in mid-September. After two months, Google has now brought Chromecast support to the stable version of Files by Google.
The app version that carries the Chromecast support feature is 1.0.27 and it’s live on the Google Play Store. Therefore, we’d suggest updating the app or downloading Files by Google to try out the feature for yourself. With the addition of Chromecast support, you can now share/stream local media from your phone to your Chromecast enabled devices.
To use the feature, all you have to do is launch Files and navigate to a section/folder which contains media such as video, audio, or image files. You would then be able to see a cast icon appear at the apps top bar. Once you connect to a nearby Chromecast device, your shared media should appear on the TV/display via Chromecast. You can change images and control media via your phone by swiping left and right or using the media controls for videos and audio.
Files by Google is an excellent file managing app and it’s also great to keep your smartphone’s storage in check by deleting unnecessary files. Download Files by Google from below.
