PUBG Mobile Livik Map to be Released Soon
A smaller map for faster gameplay.
PUBG Mobile is easily one of the most popular battle royale games on Android and iOS. Players get to participate in massive tournaments with huge prizepools. Moreover, PUBG Mobile now has many professional esports teams grinding away at the game.
There are a total of 4 classic mode maps in the game which usually result in a gameplay time of around 30 – 45 minutes. Given the size of the maps, this might not be suitable for those looking to play a quick classic match. Speaking to The Verge, producer Rick Li claims that “We want more people to enjoy PUBG Mobile in a more flexible way.”
As a result, players will now get a new map called Livik. This map is specifically designed for PUBG Mobile and isn’t available on the PC counterpart for the battle royale game. The PUBG Mobile Livik Map measures in at only two kilometers by two kilometers. Thus, making it much smaller than the current smallest map — Sanhok.
The number of players in the lobby for Livik has also been reduced to only 40. That means there will be 60 players less than the traditional 100 player lobby for each match. Thanks to the small footprint of the map, players will see an incresed number of close range fights and more gun fights overall.
Each match should last around 15 minutes which is perfect for those who aren’t willing to spend more than half an hour in a single match. Livik is based on Nordic terrain and has multiple different points of interest packed into its small area. These areas include waterfalls, a volcano, hot springs, and more.
The waterfalls will also physically affect players. Players at the top of a waterfall can be washed away with the waterfall. While Tencent has announced the development of the new map, there’s no official release date. However, the PUBG Mobile Livik Map will be available “soon”.
