WhatsApp has been testing a dark mode for a few months now. We’ve seen numerous leaks and screenshots showing off the dark mode. And now finally, some users are receiving the dark theme option after updating the application. WhatsApp Beta users with the 2.20.13 version now have the option to turn on dark mode.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to turn on dark mode in WhatsApp on your Android smartphone. Keep in mind that it seems that the feature is only available for users on the WhatsApp beta program. Toggle on Dark Mode in WhatsApp
Follow these steps to turn on the dark theme in WhatsApp on your Android smartphone.
- Launch WhatsApp on your Android phone.
- Tap on the 3-dots icon located at the top right of your screen.
- Next, tap on Settings and then tap on the Chats option.
- If the dark mode feature is available, you should see an option labeled Theme.
- Tap on Theme and then select Dark.
That’s it. You have successfully turned on dark mode in WhatsApp. After you select the Dark theme option, the app’s UI will switch to a dark theme. Alternatively, you can also use the system default theme option. Doing this will automatically switch WhatsApp’s theme to your system theme. Hence, if you enable dark mode on your device, WhatsApp’s theme would switch to a dark mode as well.
